You won’t believe how irresistible our slime is now, with a special fluorescent ingredient added to create an eerie glow. In normal light, our Atomic Slime seems to glow as it is squished and stretched… put the gooey concoction under a black light and it positively shines! Just mix the borax solution with our specially dyed PVA, turn off the lights, and break out the black light. Watch in wonder as your students clamor to be the first to touch this eerie, oozing glow-in-the-dark slime.
How does it work?
Our slime recipe is based on the classic polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) formula with sodium tetraborate as the cross-linking agent. What makes our slime formulation unlike anything else on the market is the addition of our stabilizing agents that help to reduce the growth of bacteria while preserving the stretchy, stringy, gooey properties of slime that everyone loves.
What does it teach?
Slime is a great way to introduce your class to the chemistry behind cross-linking solutions. The long-linking chains of molecules in the PVA are called polymers; the Slime Activator acts as a cross-linking agent for these polymers and helps the chains connect.

A “Non-Newtonian Fluid”
Our Atomic Slime Solution is also a great illustration of what scientists call a “Non-Newtonian Fluid” – when you apply pressure, it forms into a sort of solid and breaks, but if you let it flow like a liquid, it stretches easily.
