Explore the Science of Building Polymers by Cross-linking Long Chains of Molecules
The kit comes with the essential materials you’ll need to conduct many experiments, take-it-further activities and challenges for 1 – 4 children per kit
If the goal is to, “Go forth and gooey-glob the world!”, then this kit is a big step forward! It’s all about the chemistry of ooey, gooey polymers that end up looking like long, stringy, stretchy worms. It’s safe, simple chemistry that produces a wide variety of worms that range from completely clear to all colors of the rainbow. The “Take It Further” and “What Do you Think?” sections go well beyond the basic steps and the result is a series of experiences and activities that go to a whole new level of fun. Worm Eggs anyone?
Create an unforgettable learning experience for both you and your child
This STEM Science Kit includes all the materials you need to conduct all 5 experiments, suggestions for take-it-further activities and challenges for 1-4 children per kit. You’ll also receive two activity guides! The young scientist guide has step-by-step instructions for each lab, along with questions, and more challenges. The adult helper gets a guide including all the science behind the labs.
What does it teach?
This kit is about polymers, modern chemistry, and fun. Making these polymer worms requires lab skills and the kids are given ample materials and opportunities to practice several of them. There’s safely handling chemicals, following directions, writing a hypothesis, and recording data and observations among others. Given all that, there’s still plenty of room for innovation and originality.

I am letting you know that the Insta-Worms were a great success for the 4-H project that we presented for our local Duck Days in Lake Crystal, MN. The 4-H Butternut Boosters relied on your services and delivered a fun, and exciting project for our club to present to the community. Thank you for your wonderful exploration into science, that makes science fun! You’re Da’ Bomb!

We did these worms at a Halloween party. All of the kids loved doing these even the teens. We added glow-in-the-dark powder to the pearl solution, big hit. The worm goo makes lots and lots of fun worms. All of the supplies that come in the kit are of the best quality. Nothing cheep here. Great price. Speedy delivery. Came packaged very nice, everything I order came in great condition. The direction were easy to fallow and worked just like it said it would. Great fun for all.

The kiddos loved this activity. It is exciting to see spark in high school students who have not been afforded the opportunity to explore and learn through hands-on activities.

I have used this as a first day of school activity with 4th graders the past couple of years. Great way to get them excited about the year. They don’t stop talking about it at home! I even had a student that pulled hers out of her book bag on the last day of school. She didn’t want to part with them!
