Go beyond gluey formulas and make the world’s best slime using Steve Spangler’s Rainbow Slime Art. Each kit comes with six rainbow slime colors with 240-milliliter bottles of high quality PVA (polyvinyl alcohol). Our slime formulation is unlike anything else on the market because of the addition of stabilizing agents that reduce the growth of bacteria while preserving the stretchy, stringy, gooey properties of slime that everyone loves. Recommended for children ages 6 and older with adult supervision.
Making rainbow slime is a great way to introduce the concept of changes in states of matter, demonstrate the process of cross-linking long chains of molecules and explore the science of polymers.
Slime Art is like microscopic spaghetti – long chains of slippery, slimy molecules called polymers are linked together by the activator solution. Keep your slime in a zipper-lock bag for safe storage and keep off of carpets, wood surfaces or any place you slime could cause damage.
When you’re done playing (oops… experimenting) with your slime, combine all of your slime into one giant pile. Find a safe surface (counter top, glass table) where the slime can spread out and dry for 5-7 days. When the water evaporates, your ooey, gooey slime will turn into an amazing piece of slime art.
Who can resist playing mad scientist and making their own batch of ooey, gooey slime? Making slime is perfect for Halloween or anytime of the year! Use slime to teach students about states of matter as two liquids mix to become a solid. The result is pretty close and will work when used with our Slime Art Goo.

When drying the slime do you put crumpled up foil under it to get these amazing 3D shapes, or what? Please explain the process to get the 3D shapes. Looks exciting and fun!

Kathleen, thanks for the question. When drying slime I would suggest to dry it on a glass table or granite counter top. If you put a fan near by it will give some air flow to start the dehydration process. While it dehydrates it will start the slime to curl. Once the slime is dry you can use a simple counter cleanser to remove any slime residue. Enjoy the Slime Art! Joshua
