How Does It Work?
Partially fill your petri dishes with a perfect mixture of nutrients that provide food for microbe growth. Scientists often use hot agar mixed with salts, amino acids and other substances perfect for supporting the particular microbes they wish to study. When the mixture cools, place your tiny cells on top of the surface and watch them multiply. Don’t worry, they take some time to grow!
Are they sterile?
They are not sterile. However, it is easy to make them sterile, just throw them in your dishwasher.
