Teacher Appreciation Month – Honor Your Favorite Science Teacher
Note from the Editor, May 15th – Our Teacher Appreciation Contest has ended. We will be picking the winners today. Thanks to everyone who submitted their awesome teachers for the contest.
This is one of the greatest parts of my job – I always look forward to Teacher Appreciation month. My team at Steve Spangler Science would like to help you recognize and honor an outstanding science teacher in your community. If there’s a science teacher who has made a positive impact in your child’s life, done something great for the school or is just a great teacher, let us help you honor that person.
This year we are giving away thirty gift certificates to SteveSpanglerScience.com valued at $35 each and your favorite teacher might be one of the lucky recipients.
While coffee coupons and mugs with clever sayings are the standard, we want to give you a chance to be creative and say thank you to an outstanding science teacher by allowing him or her to select their own gift. There are over a thousand cool science toys and hands-on science activities at www.SteveSpanglerScience.com. We love to show our appreciation to great science teachers – we just need your help finding them. We’ve created a simple teacher appreciation form for you to tell us what your nominee has done to be amazing and make science fun in their school. Submit your nomination before midnight on May 14, 2009 and we’ll select 30 winners.
Go to Spangler Science teacher appreciation nomination. Tell us in 500 words or less what your teacher nominee has done to make science more fun and meaningful in the classroom. All nominations are due by midnight on May 14, 2009. Members of our team will review all of the nominations and announce the winners on May 18, 2009.

Mr. Swhalm from Elco Middle School in Myerstown, PA is retiring and my son is trully inspired by this teacher. This teacher has the most amazing approach to science i have ever seen , his energy just draws the kids to him and the science. He even took some of the boys bike riding and treated them to DQ. He is the kind of teacher i wish i would have had when i had science . My son is devestated that he is retiring and he enjoyed staying after school and talking about their rockets they built and setting them off . This man made a difference and i just wanted to put it out there because he deserves it! Thanks so much !
I had a physics teacher who used to stand in front of class, raise his hands and sing aloud “FORCE IS THE CAUSE OF CHANGING VELOCITY.” Needless to say, I never forgot 😀
Steve,
My wife is a special ed teacher. My kids enjoyed your science fairs in Wheat Ridge many years ago. Thanks for recognizing our teachers.
