When I first announced that I was going to be at the Tattered Cover in Highlands Ranch, Colorado to kick-off my national book tour for Naked Eggs and Flying Potatoes: Unforgettable Experiments that Make Science Fun, I got lots of Tweets and Facebook comments with this common theme…

• Are you sure the Tattered Cover knows who you are and what you do?
• You should shoot off a few Mentos geysers and then yell, “Tah-Dah!”
• Shoot smoke rings – that should get everyone’s attention.
• If you’re supposed to be quiet in a book store, they’re in for a huge surprise.

Let me just say that while I appreciate all of your comments, you’re scaring the thunder out of the nice people at the Tattered Cover in Highlands Ranch. I’ve had to assure them that nothing bad will happen, even though I am going to bring out a big crate of science demos and hands-on activities for the big book signing. In fact, we’ll do one better… we’re brining out our entire Spangler Science team to make certain no one gets bored standing in line (if we’re fortunate enough to have a few people come out to the event). It’s going to be a totally kid-friendly event – we’d love to see you there.
