Go beyond glue slime and make professional grade slime using Steve Spangler’s Slime Art. Each slime three pack kit comes with one liter of high quality PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) solution with your choice of coloring. What makes our slime formulation unlike anything else on the market is the addition of stabilizing agents that help to reduce the growth of bacteria while preserving the stretchy, gooey properties of slime that everyone loves.
Slime Art is microscopic spaghetti – long chains of slippery, slimy molecules called a polymer. The Activator Solution links together long polymer chains to form professional grade slime. Keep your slime in a zipper-lock bag for safe storage. Keep off of carpets, wood surfaces, or anywhere slime will damage.
Making slime is a great way to introduce the concept of changes in states of matter (from a liquid to a solid), to demonstrate the process of cross-linking long chains of molecules, and to explore the science of polymers. Use packs of slime to teach students about states of matter as two liquids mix to become a solid.
Enjoy Slime in the Colors You Choose
There’s nothing like some colorful slime to brighten up a dreary winter day, especially when you can share the fun with your friends in the classroom. Thanks to the wonder of polymer cross-linking, creating slime is easy with the Slime Art 3 Pack from Steve Spangler Science. This great kit shows young scientists how to make colorful slime by simply adding the colored slime liquid to the Slime Art Activator Solution. Then, they can watch the magic happen as the polymer chains form into magnificent, gooey slime. Using the Activity Guide with the packs of slime that’s included with the kit makes it even more fun. Your students can vary how much they add to create different slime effects. Let the slime dry out on a counter top and the students turn into artists as the water evaporates and the slime forms amazing shapes.
When you’re done playing (oops… experimenting) with your slime, combine all of your slime into one giant pile. Find a safe surface (counter top, glass table) where the slime can spread out and dry for 5-7 days. When the water evaporates, your ooey, gooey slime will turn into an amazing piece of slime art.
It’s easy! Just mix the two liquids to create long, gooey molecular chains of polymer slime. Experiment with your own mixing proportions to make slime the way you like it.
