There's only one talk show where the host will let a scientist (who may or may not have lost his mind) blow stuff up, make oozing concoctions, and even use her to demonstrate a bed of nails. That's right, that stuff only happens on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, and only when Steve Spangler makes an appearance. Tune in this week to find out just what Steve has in store for the fun and creative Ellen DeGeneres this time.

About the Show... Steve Spangler got the phone call in September of 2007 from the producers at The Ellen DeGeneres Show who wanted to know if he could bring a few of his favorite science demonstrations to the show. Much to our surprise, they had already watched lots of Steve's science experiment videos from the website. His first visit just a few weeks later was the start of something much bigger than we ever thought. Today, Steve Spangler is a regular guest and friend of the show.

Steve is used to getting students and teachers excited about science, but what about a talk show host?

Steve made his first appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in September of 2007, teaching Ellen how to blow giant smoke rings, and he returned just a month later to demonstrate his exploding pumpkin trick. Last February, Steve wowed Ellen and her audience by letting an audience member walk on water... or at least a giant vat of cornstartch and water... and gave Ellen a little surprise when he ignited hydrogen and oxygen bubbles, right in her hands! In April of 2008, he showed Ellen how to make exploding "fire water" and filled the studio with flying potatoes. On his last appearance, Steve returned to the Ellen show with electric pickles, disappearing ink, Insta-Snow and an explosive liquid nitrogen finale. Last March, Steve got things fired up with a little Methane Mamba fire ball. After Ellen "lit him on fire..." he showed her how to float a ball in mid-air or make some toilet paper fly. But, no one could believe their eyes when Ellen laid down on a bed of nails for Steve's big finale! With all these science adventures, we can't wait to see what Steve will come up with next!
