In a recent survey, 4 out of 5 ants preferred the AntWorks Ant Habitat over the traditional dirt farm. This space-age habitat allows you to study the behavior of ants in a unique, self-contained environment. Its special gel is full of nutrients specially formulated for the needs of the ant (formulated by a certified ant nutritionist). Because the gel is clear, you can actually see the ants dig their tunnels in 3 dimensions. AntWorks includes a container with a special gel formulation, magnifying glass, 20 page booklet detailing fascinating ant facts and a special 'extreme magnification lens' with which you can even see hairs on the ants! Recommended for children ages 7 and up.
Live ants are not shipped with this product! You'll receive an order form to send away for your ants. Shipping of the ants is $3.50 ($5.00 for Canada). Just make sure their new home is ready when they arrive.

How long will they live?
The typical lifespan of an ant is about 3 months. -
Can I release them?
Yes, they will do fine on their own in the big, big world.

Great idea! My students really loved it. I purchased the one with a light. The only drawback is that it can't be reused. I tried "melting" down the gel in hot sun but it didn't work. |

What a great modern twist on one of my favorite childhood memories. The gel makes the ant farm clean, contemporary and very interesting to watch! My six-year old daughter loves it! She can't wait to get home from school and see what the ants have done. Highly recommended. |
