A Steve Spangler Science Classic!
How many breaths does it take to inflate an 2 meter (8 ft) Windbag? 70 breaths, maybe? Why even try? With a simple science secret you can amaze your students and friends by blowing up your Windbag in one breath! If you don't believe it, try this amazing science activity! Windbags are so light and strong that even the smallest scientist can demonstrate the amazing properties of air! Recommended for children ages 4 and up.
What's included?
- Windbags in your choice of quantity
- Science activity guide
How does it work?
Tie a knot in the end of the 2 meter x 25 cm (8 ft x 10 in) bag and stretch it out on a smooth surface. Blow into the bag using the special science secret and your Windbag inflates with one breath! The activity guide is filled with fun science experiments.
What does it teach?
Use this air-mazing experience to learn about the properties of air molecules and how they move. Demonstrate the scientific principle called the Bernoulli Effect, which explains why you can blow up the amazing Windbag with only one breath! Expand your focus and use this opportunity to discuss how air pressure creates weather systems that move across the continents and how airplanes fly!

Captured students' attention
Diane Weaver - January 7, 2012
. . . and since I teach at-risk high school students, this is not easy. I used it to illustrate the Bernouilli effect in my Physical Science class. |

We loved the windbags. They were lots of fun. I would have liked more information on the science behind it to explain to the kids. |

I used these for an object lesson at a health fair over a year ago, and the kids still remember the point I was making that day! Impressive! |

Windbags - fun but need explanation
Cathy - August 8, 2011
Windbags are lots of fun and really can explain the Bernoulli effect ... BUT if you are working with younger kids (below age 10) make sure you review the concept thoroughly... and probably multiple times. Usually even when I do this, I still have the majority of the younger kids that don't understand why it can fill the way I did it. However they usually have even more fun running around and filling them that way. ALSO both ends are open right out of the package and if you don't tell them that they need to knot or rubber band one end before playing with it, you will have LOTS of disappointed kids |

Windbags
Carol corden - June 20, 2011
I received 32 windbags and was very pleased with the product. I did a demo..."How many breaths to blow an 8 ft. windbag up" for my son (he said 10), my office mates at a retreat (they said 19) and used some to tie onto a booth for "Relay for Life" and showed the kids around us. Everybody is amazed that it can be blown with one or two breaths. I don't think they fully understand the why but that's ok, it still brought on a lot of excitement. |

My grandkids had great fun with the windbags. I had trouble getting air into one - but the grandkids had no trouble |

Windbags are always a hit!
Jet Tilton - November 23, 2010
We do after-school science programs in the DFW area, and they are always a blast with our kids! Especially since you can twist one end, and it becomes a "football-like" toy that can be thrown around! |

Kids Love These!
Jenny Brown - July 22, 2010
I tied these off in the middle for the Children's Church kids so they could all blow them up with one breath. It also made it possible for two children to share one bag. I sent one home with every kid and you'd have thought I handed them a million dollars. They love these! |

Wind bags
Becky - July 18, 2010
These were a ton of fun, the kids (and parents) really enjoyed them. Some of the children were frustrated because Mom or Dad could blow them up in one breath and it took them a few more, but once they were inflated we played with them all day. |

Great Product
Karen Alldredge - March 15, 2010
We used them at our preschool of 4's and 5's. The children loved them. They ran on the playground to fill the bags with air showing that air takes up space. An added benefit was the great exercise that the children received with all the running. The bags were extremely durable - no tears or holes even after extensive use. Thanks for a great product. |

Great idea
Jenny Brown Yukon, OK - November 3, 2009
These are colorful and fun, but I opted to use the slightly cheaper diaper genie bags instead. It still amazed the teens I was working with, but they smelled and were a dingy green color. I wish I had ordered these instead. |
