Humidity helps to prevent static electricity from forming, so you might have work a little harder to build up a charge if you are in a high humidity area. Recommended for children ages 4 and up.

What's included?

  • 1,2 or 10 pack of Static Tube(s)

How does it work?

Simply run your hand over the plastic tube and build up a static charge. Watch the static beads inside jump from side to side to stay away from your finger.

The styrofoam balls are good at showing how static electricity works.

That said, the tube has to be thin enough to conduct static electricity, meaning it also susceptible to getting mashed up a bit. And if you bang it around too much, the top can pop off, leading to a lot of styrofoam balls all over the place.

Great for the money... A must have for any electricity demo.

I would have given it 5 stars but I needed to hot-glue the ends on so they didn't fall off. Besides that... its a mandatory piece of equip.. for any electrostatic related experiment.

The grandkids loved them and it really helped to show them about static electricity
