I've used these for mixing colors and then making gel crystals from kindergarten through 5th-grade. It's one of the kids' favorite activities; they request it year after year, and has become a staple in our unit on color and light. We usually follow it by making rainbow wands.

Love the value!

This is a great tool to take whole class experiments to individual student experiments with the small cylinders for materials to go in.

Each student can sample a small amount and watch in their tray.

These were so much fun. the kids ask for them all the time and really cant get enough. We use them for colors and my youngest kids are already recognizing colors and how to mix them to make the colors they want. The older children love to make the trays look like rainbows, which led us to entirely different activities and exploration.
