Balloon Powered Helicopter

This classic toy 4-pack isn't just fun, it's also educational. You get to put the helicopter together from scratch, too. Start by connecting all the parts as the back of the package shows. Then simply blow up the balloon, pinch it shut, and wrap it over the plastic tube. Toss it up into the air and watch the helicopter spin and propel itself further into the air. All the while, the escaping air makes the helicopter whistle. How cool!

What's Included?

Each helicopter includes:

  • 2 balloons (8 total)
  • 3 blades (12 total)
  • Base with whistle tube (4 total)
How Does It Work?

The balloon powered helicopter allows young students to learn about properties of air pressure and flight, but also allows students a chance to practice basic mechanical construction.

Lots of fun for all ages! Review by Agata

The helicopter balloons worked great and kids really liked them. Easy to assemble and replaceable parts! Great idea! (Posted on 12/30/13)

Lots of fun--while the balloons last Review by Mike

The first few times these things are great fun. But the balloons weaken around the neck or, being balloons, just break. It's not easy to find exactly the right balloon replacement--needs to be medium sized with smallish neck in order to produce tight fit. Would be helpful if extra balloons were available on website. Aw, Steve-Fix this thing:) Review by Susanne M.

I ordered several of these to take with me to China when I was going to visit some orphanages. Perhaps luckily (?), I had to have my thyroid removed and wasn't able to go when I had planned, as these things do not work at all:( In all fairness however, I can say that I have ordered tons of stuff from you guys and loved everything, along with my students, so please take another look at this and make it work or take it off the market. You are my science gurus and helped me bring science and fun back to a very boring and bored staff and curriculum. I recently retired due to continuing health issues (all resolved now), but going on one of your cruises is still tops on my list of things to do-I also have a starlab if you ever want to do a starry, astronomy sort of cruise!:)

That's not the experience that you should have had with the Balloon Powered Helicopters! We want to get this fixed, Susanne. One of our customer service representatives will be getting in touch with you soon to rectify the situation.

Balloon Helicopters Review by Jonathan Verby

The balloon helicopters worked great for all grades 1-3. The only problem was that the balloons that came with the helicopters broke too easily. You will need to buy extra medium sized balloons. (Posted on 3/5/13)

Balloon Powered Helicopters Review by Kristen Edgar

These are wonderful! The kids love them, and they came so quickly. (Posted on 1/24/13)

Up, Up, and Away Review by C. Etapa

The helicopter balloons worked great, and were easy to assemble. The students really enjoyed working with them. (Posted on 12/30/12)

Good product... Review by D

I am OK with your product. The problem is that it is hard to make and also too weak to fly properly leans on one side.
Otherwise your copter is good and interests kids. (Posted on 12/20/12)
