These cool cubes are just so cool. I have used them in my elementary 3-5 grade classes. This year I will be using them to teach investigation, matter, drawing conclusions, engineering, etc. All of the students think I have brought in ice cubes and they are so disappointed that I have finally gone the boring science teacher route. They soon deduce that these cubes do not fit the criteria to be ice cubes. That’s is when the fun really begins. Of course, when I start the lesson with an ‘easy’ estimation activity and they are baffled about how many cubes are in my tub (just add a bit of water and the cubes disappear. Leave a few showing and they think they are floating.) I can see and hear the ‘How can this be” start. There are so many ways to use these cubes. Other than the cost of shipping, they are well worth the investment.

Question
Amanda Deeter –
Do these cubes dissolve? Or what do you do with them after your finished with them?

Staff lisabrooks –
The cubes do not dissolve. Just let the water evaporate so they go back to their original size. Once they are back to their original size and are completely dry, you can store them in a sealed container and hold on to them until you are ready to use them again.

how long does it take for them to start growing?

Staff Lisa – Customer Service Manager –
They will start absorbing water immediately. You will notice growth within 15-20 minutes, but they will need several hours to fully absorb the water.
