How Does It Work?
These special fiber-reactive dyes are sure to produce the most vibrant tie-dye you’ve ever seen.
What Does It Teach?
Teach the science of fashion with this unique tie-dye kit. The dyes in this kit are called fiber-reactive. That means a chemical reaction takes place between the dye molecules and the fabric molecules. The dye bonds with the cotton and actually becomes a part of the fabric. That is why the dyes are so permanent and vibrant even after several washings. Not only will your kids learn about chemical reactions, but they will also be able to wear their science projects!

I used the kit with my 4/5 year old preschool class – they loved it, so proud of their shirts! Their parents loved it. Everyone commented that they’d never seen such clean, intense colors.Really hoping there is a refill kit option for next year!

The first time I used this kit, there was a bit of a learning curve. Collecting all the different containers, and then figuring out which solution went into which container, was a little confusing the first time. Now that I have done this kit for a few years, it is a breeze! The only thing I would change is: Make the DVD presentation available online. From an environmental standpoint, DVDs have become wasteful and obsolete. Other than that, I highly recommend this project!
