We're excited to introduce you to our naturalist, John Scheerens, who will participate in every aspect of the Science at Sea experience and provide us with his amazing insights and knowledge of the region. John is considered the teacher of teachers in Alaska serving as the training consultant for most of the major tour companies throughout Alaska.

Science at Sea 2013
We’re taking the Spangler Seminars experience to the seas for the third time in June, 2013 with Holland America. Join our award-winning naturalists and Steve Spangler as we explore the inside passage of Alaska. We will explore Juneau, Glacier Bay, Skagway, Ketchikan, and Tracy Arm. These one of a kind excursions and lectures are only available to Science at Sea participants. Seats are limited and payment plans are available. We will sail round trip from Vancouver, BC, Canada on June 22, 2013.

Here's what others have said about the Science at Sea teacher cruise...
"Being able to share this with so many other science teachers who need that same support, encouragement, and enthusiasm in there classrooms has been the most awesome part of this." - Ellen Peterson
"John was unbelievable, he was able to find ways to take our tour group on special spots that other tour groups don't usually get to go to. The amount of knowledge he has in his head is just unbelievable. Ask him a question that could be answered in five seconds and he'd spend 30 minutes talking about it, but it wasn't just drawn out, it was the history of everything behind it, it was really good information." - Jonathan Jones
"One of the wonderful things about this experience has been that it brought the wonder of science back." - Jeff Hendren
"Alaska is beyond anything I had imagined. It's just one thing more spectacular than the next." - Charlie Schaflein
"When you see all of this so unspoiled by human intervention, it just makes you think of the world differently." - Carol Wilson
"I'm speechless!" - Sarah Bekkers
"I would just like to say thank you, to Steve's entire staff, including John and Michelle, it was special, extra special, and it was done the Steve Spangler way, do it right, make it big, and give it class." - Lora True
