- Shouldn't leak for the price. Review by Michael S.
I purchased one for my classroom only for it to leak on the bottom and sides. It was returned back for another one only to do the same thing. In the directions that come with this piece of equipment it states the following “best to coat the channel or divider with a small amount of petroleum jelly” later it states “Even with petroleum jelly on the divider the chamber will never be water tight” So for $79.99 you can purchase a plexiglass piece of equipment that leaks. It would be nice to advertise this in the website so people know what they are buying. For that amount of money the container should not leak.

If a picture is worth a thousand words, a demonstration "in action" of allowing two liquids to meet is a definite dinner time table topic for students to discuss with their parents. Whether you are discussing hot/cold, salt/fresh, temperature inversions (for liquids simulating air bodies), liquids of different densities, comparing light refraction, or whatever you can dream up, this split demo tank is awesome. Lightweight, takes less liquid and easier to use than your old hefty aquarium. Get one and you won't be disappointed. (Posted on 2/28/13)

Zarah, Thank you for the update on the split demo tank. I appreciate your help and eagerly await my new non-leaky one. :-) I've loved all the products I purchased from your company. The items Steve Spangler Science offers were just what we needed to enhance our after school science club. Thanks. Jenny (Posted on 2/19/13)
