Wonder Fly Static Generator Stick
Battery powered static electricity generator that makes objects fly!
Usually ships out the next day.
Recommend for 6 to 7 years with adult supervision.
The Wonder Fly Stick is an ingenious battery operated static electricity generator that allows you to float stencil shapes on a cloud of electrons. Press the button on the Wonder Fly Stick for a few seconds to generate a static charge. Drop the stencil shape onto the stick to quickly transfer the negative charge to the stencil. Since like charges repel each other, the negatively charged stencil shape floats above the negatively charged stick. The learning curve is about two minutes and you're ready to amaze everyone with the Wonder Fly Stick. Recommended for children ages 5 and up.

How does it work?
Press the button on the Wonder Fly Stick for a few seconds to generate a negative static charge. Drop the stencil shape onto the stick to quickly transfer the negative charge to the stencil. Since like charges repel each other, the negatively charged stencil shape floats above the negatively charged stick. If you want to impress someone with your newly acquired knowledge, just tell them that the Wonder Fly Stick is a demonstration of "electrostatic propulsion and the repulsion of like charges." Okay, if you really want to impress someone, just make the shapes float!

Awesome wand!
John Viggiano - January 20, 2012
I can't wait to show this to the kids at my upcoming science event! The best part about it is that you don't need to rub the stick with anything or hope that the humidity is low enough, at least where I live. |

wonder fly
Maggie Jackson - January 17, 2012
I was so excited to share this with my afterschool "Wacky Science" class of elementary kids. To my dissappointment, and their's, it did not work. We tried changing the batteries but no luck. |

DID NOT WORK - MAJOR HALLOWEEN PROGRAM DISAPPOINTMENT!
Lin Mohler - November 2, 2011
Ours did not work. We carefully followed all instructions, changed batteries twice, and made sure we were not in any sort of humidity. I asked on of the Steve Spengler workshop graduates to check what I was doing, and she had the same difficulties and was not able to get this to work. Had really counted on this for a super halloween storytime...

awesome!
hannah - October 21, 2011
This works really well! My science teacher has one and thats why i bought one. It took me a while to figure it out, but it keeps me entertained for hours! The only thing is that, well, the foil shapes break easily. Still love it! :) |

Experiencing only 50% that are operational
Mike Smith - August 10, 2011
When the Wonder Fly Stick works they are awesome, but I just recently purchased two and at first neither of them worked well. I changed batteries just to make sure I didn't accidentally get used ones. With brand new batteries only one of the sticks works really well where the other not nearly as well. Not sure what is wrong or if there is anything I can do fix it. I tried to adjust the copper contact that comes in contact with the shaft but still no luck. I had the same scenario a year ago when I bought two Fly sticks, when they were blue in color. One worked really good until one of our volunteers broke the battery cap, hence why I bought more. And I never did get that second one to work. |

Fly Stick
phyllisendicott - July 6, 2011
Have used in many classes, is fun and always works. The foil does break down rather quickly with handling. Still worth it, just make sure the kids do it one at a time. A group catching it can destroy the foil quickly. |

wonderfly stick...keep kids entertained for hours!!
Patty Hupfer Riedel - February 17, 2011
I have some study hall time...and while many of the students are busily working on their physics assignments...the Wonderfly stick is introduced and now I have 4 senior physics boys entralled with this thing. (The rest of the class is watching - but they want to get their homework done.) It's fun and amazing and looks like magic. I wish I had a whole class set. I envision static electricy races down the hallways at school. Being able to play with this and not just watch a demo is priceless top the kids! (this and poppers could keep them entertained for hours!) :) |

Fun Fly Stick
roy - February 14, 2011
A great instrument to demonstrate static charge and electric field/potential. However, I feel like the toy is too flimsy and even broke after a few uses. The damage was repaired, but I still feel as if the design could be improved. Not the vendor's fault though :) |

Really Cool Piece
Momma Teri from Mom to Bed by 8 - November 30, 2010
The first thing I will say is that it works and is a great way to make others raise an eyebrow or two. We spent at least an hour trying various stencils and each one taking their turn. This is a really cool piece to introduce a child to the works of static electricity or even beginning science. Once they take an interest in how this works, the options are endless after that... Momma Teri received the Wonder Fly Stick from Steve Spangler Science at no cost to her in exchange for a review. Disappointing
dimac - November 26, 2010
Humidity is too much a factor in this working as shown. I had disappointing results and could never get it to work as shown in the video. I was very disapointed with it. |
