Fountain Connection
A Fountain Connection acts like an erupting geyser.
Usually ships out the next day.
Recommend for 6 years & up with adult supervision.
Try to figure this one out... a Fountain Connection looks like a Tornado Tube, yet its purpose is to make an erupting fountain instead of a swirling tornado. In fact, this fountain seems to defy both logic and the laws of nature. Use this experiment to study gravity, air pressure and partial vacuums. We use it at conferences to fool the really smart physics teachers. If you like the Tornado Tube, you'll love this one too! Recommended for children ages 6 and up.
What's included?
- One Fountain Connection
- Two 1-liter bottles (included with Fountain Connection kit only)
What does it teach?
Learn about gravity, air pressure, and how partial vacuums work.Product FAQ
- What size bottles will this fit in?
The connection fits into two 1 liter bottles but you will need to cut the tips for it to work the best. - How does this work?
The connection teaches a lot about partial vacuums and gravity. To start, the water should be in the top bottle. The water will flow down one of the straws therefore displacing the air up the other straw, both of which have tiny holes near the center. When the air flows up the straw, it takes the water that has leaked through these little holes and pushes it upward, creating a fountain.

AWESOME!!!!

As a Homeschooling Mom and a Childcare provider, I am always on the lookout for cool hands-on stuff. All of my kids love the tornado tube!! When I saw this erupting fountain, I knew I had to get it! Esp. for that price!! It was easy to put together! I had to trim the tubes a bit like it said and we learned if it is about 1 - 1.5 inch(es) from the bottom of the bottle, the better spurting show it seems to put on! I made the water red like hot lava and we call it the erupting volcano!! It is a GIANT hit in both my teenagers and my preschoolers!! I am going to order a another one on my next order!! |

Kind of disappointed
Amber Christy Wright City, OK - November 4, 2009
I really liked the idea of a fountain in a bottle, but when I received my kit, the directions for setting the fountain up was not clear. So I actually cannot figure out how to get the entire thing to work. So as of now, I have two bottles and straws with a connector that I cant use. |
