It's a requirement for the scientists at Spangler Labs to have a top-notch knowledge of colors and color mixing. To get them to a proficient level, we like to use these amazing Color Mixing Glasses. These sturdy plastic frames come with interchangeable lenses in the three primary colors, 2 red, 2 yellow, and 2 blue, as well as a pair of distortion lenses that make you see like a bug. The lenses are extremely easy to interchange and combine. Let your kids observe the world around them while learning about color with these fun glasses.

What's included?

  • Durable plastic frame (fits most children)
  • 8 lenses
    • 2 red
    • 2 blue
    • 2 yellow
    • 2 distortion
  • Color-mixing chart

How does it work?

Each side of the durable plastic Color Mixing Glasses has two slots where you can slide your four types of lenses. Experiment with the different colors and the insect distortion lenses and see what crazy combinations you can come up with.

What does it teach?

By allowing young scientists to combine different colors and types of lenses, Color Mixing Glasses give students over 100 different combinations to create.

I thought it is a good device for presenting ideas about color addition and subtraction.
I would love to see it raised to the next level by including polarized filters. Adding in images that can only be seen through polarized filter would increase its instructional value. I will try to make my own to use with these glasses. This would take it out of being considered a cute novelty to an excellent instructional tool.
