The 61 cm (2 ft) tall, reusable Butterfly Pavilion is the perfect environment for young entomologists to raise butterflies. Lightweight, durable construction makes for easy hanging. See-through mesh with zippered entry allows easy access for care and feeding, and keeps butterflies inside until you set them free. Recommended for children ages 4 and up.

How does it work?

Notice! This kit doesn’t contain any live insects, but contains a mail-in certificate for the live critters. Six butterflies are guaranteed to be perfect specimens. Please allow approximately 3 weeks for your larvae to develop. Available only in the Continental U.S. and Alaska.

Shipping charges for larvae are applied at time of coupon redemption.

Please note: Your critters will be shipped live, so if the weather is extremely hot or cold, caterpillar delivery may be delayed.

After school classes, students ages 5 - 11, thoroughly enjoyed watching the butterfly stages. After observing them in the butterfly stage for a little over a week, we set them free. It was interesting to see and to learn that after being in the garden, when let out of the garden, they had to flex and practice using their wings before they actually could take off flying.
