I was excited about Boom, Splat, Kablooey because kids are always wanting exciting, unexpected, messy experiments. I saw the title and the description and thought this would be a perfect hook to get the kids geared up for a year of Science Club. However, I was extremely disappointed with this purchase. This book did have some experiments, but the majority of the book was informative. To be fair, there was good information and beautiful pictures. It would be a great resource if I wanted real life examples of science in action, but there wasn't much to do in it. It also fell below my expectations because there were three pieces of "equipment" included which, again, fueled the idea of a lot of experiments. I have never regretted a purchase from Steve Spangler until this one.

I got this book and it's great. Then I was searching YouTube to see what others were doing and found this cool video. My son's geyser went just about as high. Nice job on this book / science kit.
