We love growing creatures, and when they hatch out of their own eggs it's even better! Submerge eggs in cool water and watch as they slowly hatch out of their shells. After the eggs are broken, the brightly colored creatures continue to grow. The gator, lizard, and dino get 20 cm (8 in) long and the duck gets 10 cm (4 in) long. These Hatchin' Grow creatures are the perfect accent for your classroom or your office. Recommended for children ages 4 and up.

How does it work?

The creature inside the egg is made out of a superabsorbent polymer. The polymer molecules act like microscopic sponges that absorb tremendous amount of water. The water slowly seeps through the egg shell and the creature starts to absorb the water until it gets too big and burst through the shell. Did you know that the growing creature will shrink back down to its original size if you allow it to dry out? The water evaporates and the superabsorbent creature shrinks.
