Better than string and tin cans!

  • Space Phone
    Item #: WSPP-700

    $9.99 In Stock

Usually ships out the next day.

Recommend for 8 to 9 years with adult supervision.

If you thought a string connecting two soup cans was a major form of telecommunication (or at least better than Cingular), Space Phones are guaranteed to knock your socks off. The two cones amplify sounds and vibrations when the spring is stretched, making wild and wacky sounds. Includes instructions and a study guide on the principles of sound. Recommended for children ages 8 and up.

This is an awesome way to see sound! You can actually see the wave travel along the spring! I used this as a review of how waves travel with my 6th graders (they were supposed to learn that in 6th grade). Most of them remembered but for a few of them, this was the first time they understood it!

My only complaint would be how easy it is for the spring to get tangled in itself...
