Over all the microscope performs well. I think it would be best for students in grades 4-7. If it had a fine adjustment knob then it could be suitable for High school students. It would also make it less likely that the high power lens would be damaged by colliding with the slide.
I also would have liked a smaller hole on the disk diaphrahm, even with the light adjustment knob on the lowest setting, the microscope still doesn't get dark enough to clearly see lightly stained or unstained specimens.
