Chewing gum in class used to get kids in trouble. Now kids are making bubble gum in school to learn about the science of food. This Bubble Gum Kit is one of Steve Spangler's favorite food science kits for kids. The easy to follow directions will guide you through every step of the bubble gum making process. You'll have about 125 grams (1/4 lb) of bubble gum ready to eat in less than 15 minutes from the time you open the kit. Guaranteed mixture of learning and fun! Recommended for children ages 8 and up.
What's included?
Included in the kit is everything you need to create the a huge wad (okay, 125 grams (a quarter pound!)) of great tasting bubble gum. You'll even receive some interesting bubble gum facts to ponder as you chew your way into happiness... at least for a few minutes. Please note that this kit requires the use of a microwave oven to heat the mixture and requires adult supervision.
How does it work?
Steve demonstrated the Bubble Gum Kit on his weekly "Making Science Fun" television segment.Product FAQ
Does it come in different flavors?
The kit comes in the original flavor of bubble gum that we all grew up with. That classic taste brings back so many great memories. However, if you want to create some new memories with new flavors, you can add different extracts and experiment which kind will be your new favorite.

Kids love it- good for a small group, but the problem is that we always wish we had more gum base. |

Extremely Sticky, but a HIT!
Cristy - August 31, 2012
As sticky as it was to make (which we weren't entirely prepared for), this turned out great. Our students were popping bubbles the rest of the day. |

Blessing!
Keila Nichols - December 29, 2011
We don't eat sugar in our family, therefore, the bubble gum experience was not on our family's radar. UNTIL, I found this kit! We simply replaced the powdered sugar with Xylitol and substituted real maple syrup in place of corn syrup. Instead of the artificial bubble gum flavoring, we just bought some natural oils to flavor it with - lemon, mint, orange... You can only imagine the great excitement & bubble blowing extravaganza in our household that season! It made great gum with long lasting flavor & huge bubbles! It has been more than a couple years ago, so this year we delighted them with another kit for Christmas. Smiles & shrieks a-plenty! When my husband gets a job in this pitiful economy, we hope to give each child a $25 gift certificate to spend on some of these other fun things in the catalog - at their request after much ooing & ahhing! |

bubble gum
phyllisendicott - July 6, 2011
This is the most expensive gum ever. It did not work well in the classroom. It was a lesson that sometimes experiments don't work. The gum didn't taste good either. |

Simple and fun
Misty DiPietro - May 19, 2011
This was a simple and fun experiment. Some of the kids liked the taste of the gum, and others did not. I recommend using flavorings you like with it. |

Surprisingly Great!!
Liz B - September 23, 2010
This kit is awesome. I used 2 of them for a group of 50. Its so easy to heat up in the microwave. Each student measured their own powder into dixie cups and I split apart the warm gum part into equal portions for them. They LOVED it! So easy and rewarding. |
