Connect the adventures of Zack and Bridget to a great hands-on science activity using our growing alligators and activity guide. Students predict what will happen when you soak the alligator in water. Will it grow like Bridget did? Yes!!! When fully grown, our alligator will grow from 10 cm (4 in) to an amazing 41 cm (16 in) long and will shrink back to its original key chain size when left to dry out. The activity guide is packed with ideas to help you build the science & literature connection. Recommended for children ages 4 and up.
What's included?
- Zack’s Alligator book
- 2 Large growing alligators
- Activity guide
How does it work?
The growing gators are really (don't tell anyone) made with superabsorbent polymers designed to absorb more than 150 times their weight in water! Watch them grow before your eyes and learn about these super-thirsty polymers along the way.Product FAQ

Lots of fun!
Mrs. Lynch - March 26, 2013
I ordered this kit last year for my preK and K students. It was fun to have a cute story to use as a jumping point for our math and science activity, as I usually stick with non-fiction in my Math and Science Buddies class. The kids enjoyed the story and also predicting, observing, and measuring how big the alligators grow. We had the small, large and giant size alligators. This year, I ordered the large size alligators for each of my students, because they seem to be reusable and have a bigger Wow Factor. Thanks for the great ideas, Steve Spangler. We love everything we get from your site! |
