These brass hex nuts work perfectly with our graduated pipettes to make Cartesian divers. The rust-resistant brass nut fits snugly onto the base of a graduated pipette so you can make as many divers as you want. These hex nuts are also great for the Screaming Balloons activity.

I am a teacher who has been doing after school science experiments for 15 years now... I usually try to make/ find/ build what I can so that my lab fees can be kept low. When I was talking with my husband about the balloon that could make such a racket with hex nuts he said, "I think hex nuts would just rip the balloons up." I listened to him and decided to go with the hex nuts from here rather than from a hardware store and much to my satisfaction the hex nuts don't pop holes and rip the balloons! I suggest using colored balloons rather than the clear ones though!
