If you are frustrated with bubbles made of soap and water, it's time to add the missing ingredient, Glycerin. Glycerin is used in everything from foods to fuels, but it is also the perfect additive to bubble solutions to make them longer lasting and bouncier. Wait... did we just say bouncier? We did! Add some Glycerin to your bubble solution, put on a pair of cotton gloves, and become a true bubble-ologist by bouncing or even catching bubbles! Ages 10 and up.
What's included?
-
4 oz (120 mL) of Glycerin
- 99.5% pure
- Enough for 8 cups (2 liters) of bubble solution
How does it work?
Add 1/2 oz (15 mL) of glycerin to any bubble solution and lengthen the life of your bubbles. Combine with Steve's famous Extreme Bubble Solution Concentrate for best results. Not getting satisfactory results? Try experimenting with adding more or less glycerin to your bubble solution and trying again. That's the best part of science, every batch can have different results!
What does it teach?
Learn how water molecules work and what the soap in bubble solution does to decrease the surface tension of water so the bubbles can stretch and float away without breaking. Discover how glycerin helps water to stay in the bubble, causing them to last longer.
Ideal conditions for making massive bubbles:
- Make bubbles in the shade, rather than the sun.
- Make bubbles on quiet, rather than windy days.
- Play with your bubbles after a rainfall; if the air is full of moisture, your bubbles will last longer.
