It's gooey, slippery, sticky, really slimy and kids love it! Make up a batch of SLIME and you'll be the hit of the day... any party... the Millennium! Oh, did we mention that making slime is a great way to introduce students to the concepts of chemical bonding, non-Newtonian fluids, polymers, and one of the coolest chemical reactions for kids?
BEST SLIME ON THE MARKET! This crazy activity has become a staple at teacher conventions, a must for before and after school programs and the hands-down favorite at Halloween. Make high quality slime with our PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) and cross-linker solutions. Our popular PVA solution contains specially formulated stabilizers to increase the shelf life and keep the slime free of unwanted growing things. Recommended for children ages 6 and up.
You get enough materials to make 24, 2 ounce portions... with a little left over!
What's included?
- Two, 1-liter bottles of Slime Goo
- Two, 1/2-liter bottles of Cross-Linker Solution
- 24, 2 ounce portion cups and popsicle sticks for mixing
- 24 zipper-lock bags
- Activity guide
How does it work?
Our slime recipe is based on the classic polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) formula with sodium tetraborate (Borax) as the cross-linking agent. Doesn’t that sound impressive? Just rattle that off at the next cocktail party and you’ll be the talk of the evening. The PVA solution even has a preservative added to give it a longer shelf life and to fight off those little germ-infested hands. Turn this ever popular science activity into a real learning experience that is filled with real fun. What does it teach?
Slime is a great hands-on lesson in non-Newtonian solids and liquids and the physics of them. In addition, students will gain valuable knowledge about polymers and their formation.
Product FAQ
-
How much does it make?
You get enough materials to make 24, 2 ounce portions... with a little left over!
-
Is it toxic?
Nope. However, simply because it is non-toxic doesn’t mean that it makes a good snack. Simply ask our product developer Brian, he’s still alive and kickin’.
-
Does it stain?
No, you should be good.
-
How long will it last?
After it is made, it will start to dry out unless it is in a zipper-lock bag or some other airtight container. It also depends on how well it is treated. Make sure that you wash your hands before playing with it. The un-mixed solution has a shelf life of about a year.

slime classroom kit

The end product was great. A bit stickier than expected...ended up using hand lotion on our hands before handling the product and that worked wonders. The only problem I had was the method of mixing. The online video clip recommends using a cup with cap and shaking the mixture together, yet the kit only provides cup with popsicle stick which is significantly more messy. I ended up picking up plastic cup lids from the local taqueria's salsa bar. That imporved the experience for our second batch of slime. |
