Item #: W9870
In Stock

It's gooey, slippery, sticky, really slimy and kids love it! Make up a batch of SLIME and you'll be the hit of the day... any party... the Millennium! Oh, did we mention that making slime is a great way to introduce students to the concepts of chemical bonding, non-Newtonian fluids, polymers, and one of the coolest chemical reactions for kids? Recommended for children ages 6 and up.

You get enough materials to make 24, 2 ounce portions... with a little left over!

What's included?

  • 2, 1-Liter bottles of Slime Goo
  • 2, 1/2-Liters of Cross-Linker Solution
  • 24, 2 ounce portion cups and Popsicle sticks for mixing
  • 24 Zipper-lock bags
  • Activity guide

How does it work?

Our slime recipe is based on the classic polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) formula with sodium tetraborate (Borax) as the cross-linking agent. Doesn’t that sound impressive? Just rattle that off at the next cocktail party and you’ll be the talk of the evening. The PVA solution even has a preservative added to give it a longer shelf life and to fight off those little germ-infested hands. Turn this ever popular science activity into a real learning experience that is filled with real fun.

The end product was great. A bit stickier than expected...ended up using hand lotion on our hands before handling the product and that worked wonders. The only problem I had was the method of mixing. The online video clip recommends using a cup with cap and shaking the mixture together, yet the kit only provides cup with popsicle stick which is significantly more messy. I ended up picking up plastic cup lids from the local taqueria's salsa bar. That imporved the experience for our second batch of slime.
