Add a small amount of beautiful red oil to a jar of water and figure out a way to remove the layer of oil, now floating on the surface. This amazing science kit includes a patented oil polymer and enough Marvel Mystery Oil (similar in chemical composition to crude oil) to repeat the science demonstration a dozen times. How does it work?

Sprinkle a small amount of this polymer onto the layer of oil and in seconds the polymer bonds to the oil, forming a sponge-like material that can be easily removed from the jar of water. This polymer is specially formulated to bond quickly and safely to many types of liquid hydrocarbons including crude oil, diesel fuel and gasoline. The bonding is so complete that it literally encapsulates the liquid hydrocarbons in just seconds. Here's an incredible solution to future oil spill disasters.

This is the second year we go to Steve Spangler website for my son's science projects. Last year the polymer cubes and marbles where a hit and we learned so much from polymers. This year we decided to learn even more about polymers and we got the clean up oil spill kit. My son, 9 years old loved this project and we truly learned so much from it.

I'm an education major at Chestnut Hill College and am using this kit to teach a lesson regarding the Gulf oil spill. What a fabulous kit! It works under various conditions, with both hot and cold water. Depending on the ratio of oil to polymer yeilds a slightly different result. Thanks guys!

This is a phenomenal product and kit. The activity guide is top notch and explains that use of the product extremely well. It's a shame (from what Steve said in the video) that this isn't a possibility in the Gulf of Mexico.

We used this at a day camp. It works very well. I wish we could have purchased it in larger quantities at a discount however. It is also best to use a cup and not a zipper bag.
