The centerpiece of this kit is a remarkable little plastic tube that looks deceptively like a test tube. It has the same shape as a test tube and almost the same uses as a test tube but it’s original use is not that of a test tube. Well, not as you might expect anyway. It’s reusable, washable, and almost indestructible. Students use their skills of observation and exploration to conduct experiments in bubbling, color-changing liquids, changes in density, and environmental science using Baby Soda Bottles. They're pretty much the world's greatest test tubes.
The kit includes supplies for 24 students working in groups to perform activitied like...
- Explore color mixing
- Mix up fizzy, bubbling potions
- Make a topsy turvy density tube
- Take the packing peanut challenge
Recommended for children ages 4 and up.
- 24 Baby Soda Bottle test tubes with caps
- Eight, 12-Packs of Color Fizzers
- Styrofoam balls
- Styrofoam peanuts
- Starch peanuts
- 48 oz bottle of vegetable oil
- Activity guide
There’s enough materials for 24 students to each have a Baby Soda Bottle and the necessary supplies to conduct each of the experiments. The kit introduces super-size, unbreakable test tubes that are perfect for young scientists.
How does it work?
Baby Soda Bottle test tubes are great for encouraging kids to explore and create results on their own. Each test tube measures 15 cm (5.75") tall, 2.5 cm (1") in diameter and holds approximately 60 mL (2 ounces) of liquid. Baby Soda Bottles™ can be used to teach kids more things than you can imagine! Grow plants, observe critters, collect water samples, explore different densities, hydrate polymer crystals, and mix all the colors you can find in a rainbow. Kids are only limited by their own creativity—put one of these test tubes in their hands and they’ll be sure to discover something new!
What does it teach?Learn about mixing colors, liquids and materials of different textures and densities. Discover how science can solve environmental problems and uncover the secret of the amazing unbreakable test tubes!

SO much included in this kit--a great value, and fun hands-on experiments. My only suggestion--add test tube racks. That would be really handy!

I had previously purchased the kit with a variety of test tube projects for my daughter. We decided to make snow the other day, I then brought it to school to show my new student who has only been in the USA for a few weeks. He thought it was really "cool" and so did the other children. At least he got the idea without the mess or hassel of a true snow storm.
