Used by biologists to culture bacteria and other microbes, these plastic petri dishes provide the perfect home for "growing" your latest science experiment. Nurture a new bacteria for this year's science fair project, and follow in the steps of Dr. Alexander Fleming when he discovered Penicillin in 1929! Recommended for children ages 6 and up.

How Does It Work?
Partially fill your Petri dishes with a perfect mixture of nutrients that provide food for microbe growth. Scientists often use hot agar mixed with salts, amino acids and other substances perfect for supporting the particular microbes they wish to study. When the mixture cools, place your tiny cells on top of the surface and watch them multiply. Don’t worry, they take some time to grow!
- Worked Great Review by Terri
I ordered these in the past for a science party and they worked great for dispersing the food coloring in milk using a cotton swab dipped in dish soap. I also used them for jello for the party. This time, I ordered them for my son's double dipping science fair project along with the nutrient agar. They experiment went very well. Great value with many uses. (Posted on 5/24/14)
- Good Product Review by Science Mom
I ordered these for a Science Fair project as well as a classroom fun activity during the Valentine's Day party. They are sturdy enough to withstand 20 kids doing their project. I was able to bring all the Petri dishes home afterward so they can be reused. (Posted on 2/13/14)
- perfect for home or school Review by kathy wilmovsky
These petri dishes are perfect for showing either your own kids or a class full of students all the germs that are on commonly used items. They are a great size and the kids are amazed at how disgusting some things are to touch. When we added hand sanitizer to the center of some of the dishes, it really made a difference and inhibited the growth of the bateria. This was a great example as to why kids should clean and sanitize their hands! (Posted on 4/13/13)

- Fun to fill with jello Review by Melissa Malone
I ordered these for my daughter's science themed birthday party and filled them with green jello. They looked just like the agar you would use in a biology lab. We also used them for the milk, food coloring, and soap experiement which the kids thought was super cool. (Posted on 1/23/13)
