This large Newton's Cradle is a classy yet sturdy rendition of the classic demonstration piece. The polished metal supports are held with great stability in the finished wooden base. This allows the swinging marbles to swing with as little deviation as possible. Newton's Cradle is a mesmerizing demonstration that is perfect for kids and adults alike. It's a great way to show appreciation for a teacher or the office-working uncle who has everything. They'll love the calming motion and stylish design. It's also a great addition to a child's science-themed room. Plus, they are learning while they're playing!
- 7" x 4.75" wooden base
- 7.5" tall
How Does It Work?
Newton's Cradle works through employing Newton's Third Law of Motion (hence the name of the apparatus!). This law states that for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This can be seen in the Cradle by trying it with 1, 2, 3, even 4 marbles at a time. When the marbles in motion contact the marbles at rest, the same number of marbles will finish off the arc of the pendulum.
What Does It Teach?
Newton's Cradle isn't just neat to look at, nor is it just a toy. It's a spectacular way to demonstrate Newton's Laws of Motion. It's a great addition to opening level physics classes.

- Lots of fun for that hard to buy for person! Review by Christy Werder
I ordered two Newton's Cradles for two of my grandkids. They and the rest of the kids (of all ages) couldn't stop playing and experimenting with them. (Posted on 5/31/13)
- Newton's Cradle! Review by Leonard Einstien :D
It's a lot of fun to play around with in front on your computer and there's more than one way to use it. I'm not sure if these are supposed to bounce back and forth forever but this one doesn't; it does last a good amount of time though. (Posted on 5/31/13)
- newtons cradle Review by cathy
There is a Newton’s Cradle at my office which is made in a wooden frame. The balls in that one stay in motion a good while longer than this one from Spangler. However, this one does an adequate job of demonstrating the principle. (Posted on 5/31/13)

I bought this as a gift for my boys...they have had it two days and loving every minute of creating new ways to manipulate the cradle...
and then the cat ate one of the strings.
But this is a really great product. Sturdy, except for cat bites. (Posted on 5/31/13)
- Love this toy for Preschool! Review by Terri Vrasich
Love this hands on experience. But how to keep the 3 & 4 year olds we teach from tangling up the strings? Slit a plastic straw and put it over each string. Tape it in place with clear tape. No more tangles and age-appropriate learning is limitless. No More tangles! :) (Posted on 5/31/13)
- Great product Review by John Garrison
I love it but don't get to careless with it my friend played with it and got it tangled all up. Other than that it is great!!!
