More Party TipsWe've got party tips covered!
Once you’ve chosen a theme and you are ready to start the party planning process, we’ve got lots of tips for Science-themed decorations and food. Beakers, flasks, lab coats, gross cakes and gummy bugs... yeah, we’ve got you covered.
Science Decorations
Here are some of the best Science Decorations we’ve discovered for amazing science birthday parties!
- Use white and blue balloons to look like bubbles. Place them around your “laboratory” to let everyone know that your place is bubbling with fun!
- Fill beakers, flasks and cylinders with all sorts of “potions.” We especially like bubbling dry ice, colored liquids and colored Water Jelly Crystals.
- Get a large bowl and fill it with Clear Spheres. Have guests plunge their hands in the bowl with their eyes closed... what do they feel? Slimy eyeballs!
- Have your party host or hostess and guest of honor wear a fashionable tie dye lab coat and some mad scientist goggles. Check out our Mad Scientist Costume for more ideas!
- It’s safe to say that around the Spangler Science office, our favorite party accessory is dry ice. In fact, it doesn’t even have to be a party for us to have a bubbling cauldron of dry ice sitting in the office. Dry Ice is available at most grocery stores and should be handled with care. See our Dry Ice Experiments for more info.
Party Food
From gross cakes to astronaut ice cream, you are sure to love these recipes for science party fun!
- Check out our Gross-out Cakes book for tons of wild ideas for birthday cakes, treats and more.
- No soda pop party would be complete with out tasting the fruits of your labor. Well, maybe not fruits, but be sure to try the Diet Coke and Mentos left over in the bottles. For a truly unique way to dispense this minty drink, check out our Mentos Soda Pop Drop experiment.
