Reduce, reuse and recycle is the message student councils across the state are sending when it comes to using packing peanuts in your holiday packages. There are several ways to go green with the packing supplies this year. Instead of throwing them away, you can reuse packing peanuts. If you don't have a need for packing peanuts, you can put eco-friendly cornstarch peanuts in water and watch them dissolve. If you have the regular polystyrene peanuts, use a solvent like acetone to dissolve them. Both methods leave very little residue to go into landfills.
