Dry Ice Fun for a Spooky Halloween
The Spangler boys like to make things bubble...
Steve, Jack, Scotty and Mark have a few ghoulish recipes to make your Halloween bubble and ooze.
Dry ice is frozen carbon dioxide. Instead of melting, dry ice turns directly into carbon dioxide gas. Dry ice must be handled with care as it is -110oF ( -78oC).
The Spangler clan demonstrated how to have fun on Halloween night with dry ice and dish soap.Drop a piece of dry ice in a bucket or graduated cylinder and watch the reaction. Add a few squirts of dish soap and you have a bubbling, oozing, spooky concoction for your Halloween party. Add dry ice to apple juice, wait for the ice to disappear, and you have a chilly carbonated drink. And for the big finally, slide a piece of cloth over a tub of water and dry ice and make a crystal ball.
