Coolest Field Trip Ever – Winners Announced

In July, my team of naturalists and I will lead a group of about 120 science enthusiasts on an educational cruise to Alaska. Our Science at Sea 2009 cruise was sold out and this year we’ve added more space and taken our custom shore excursions to a whole new level.
I wanted to offer free registration for our second Science at Sea trip to a Facebook fan who could tell us why they wanted to join us on the coolest field trip ever this summer.
Contestants had to submit a video giving us a creative look at why they should win the free registration. After much deliberation, five pots of coffee, and two breaks to go out into the parking lot and blow something up, the judges have decided to announce three winners…

Kelli Higgins

Kelli is a 3rd grade teacher from East Peoria, Illinois who’s desire to teach hands-on science is only matched by her signing abilities. This will be Kelli’s first teacher training experience with us and we are very excited to meet her!

Christine Mytko

Christine is a Elementary Science Specialist from San Francisco, California who’s passion for science is shown thru her students and her impressive science t-shirt collection! Christine joined us in Chicago in 2009 for a Science Boot Camp and we are stoked to be reunited in Alaska!

Anne Durrance

Anne is a Elementary Science teacher from Dothan, Alabama who has instilled jigawatts of science enthusiasm in to her students. We’ll be meeting Anne for the first time in Alaska with hope of her bringing her flux capacitor.

Congratulations to our three winners. We loved your creative, fun videos. We look forward to meeting you this summer in Alaska. Interested in joining us on our Alaskan field trip? Visit our Science at Sea page to learn more about the trip and what you will experience.
